Departing From Home is a project about the mundaneness of routine. As a first year student in college I would take the train two hours to and from my home every day. During this time the routine and repetition of the journey interested me. I would see the same people every week making the same journeys in I was making, all of living our own lives but being connected in that moment. But the loneliness of the journey was also intruiging. Two hours of no one to talk to, no one I knew by name. I wanted to encapsulate this feeling in this project, to preserve the mundaness of this journey I would take every day in the hopes of reaching something better.
